Chart Patterns

Open Angle, leading planet Saturn

You have the planetary pattern type called 'open angle'. All your planets occupy a 240` area of your chart, bridged by a trine aspect. With this pattern, you are an energetic and driving personality, with goals represented by the unoccupied area of your chart. The mid-point of the unoccupied area will be a significant point for you in seeking these goals. Also, the energies of the planet leading the occupied area will be a powerhouse driving you toward your expression of these goals.

Saturn in the Ninth House (or sign) gives an educated and philosophically active mentality, with a deepening and a concentration, or a blockage, in the area of higher learning and expansion into new horizons. You are courageous in expressing your opinion, have a keen intuition and make a good teacher. Your early beliefs may be characterized by adhering too strictly to a dogmatic and rigid set of principles, but you grow into a more mature wisdom in your later years. You likely have a need for physical exercise. You make a good teacher, and may also feel a calling to work with the disadvantaged. While open and honest, and intent on expressing your point of view, you may also doubt yourself in this area, seeming indecisive or rebellious. Your goals are mental and spiritual, rather than material, and you may search for a new framework of moral or spiritual values, rather than adopt existing outworn belief systems. Your lesson is to eventually come to the realization that the true source of moral and ethical valuation lies within yourself.

The following applies to your generation as a whole as well as to you personally:

Saturn in Pisces (or the twelfth house) gives a deepening and concentration, or blockage, with regard to your connection to spiritual unity with All That Is. You have a serious and self-conscious personality. You can be moody and introspective, and are likely to be compassionate and sympathetic to the problems of others. You may at times feel that life is too hard, or that it is beyond your conscious control. You may experience a sense of imprisonment, either real or imagined, or perhaps a strong sense of guilt, which may be generalized rather than specific. You tend to withdraw from the world, or in some way give up control. Or you may overcompensate by trying too hard to achieve control. Your true path lies in soul-level self-sacrifice rather than in the more mundane life of worldly events. You possess, in a very concentrated form, the urge for spiritual evolution that is present in all of us, and which actualizes when you can detach from the personal self and surrender to a mystical union with all of life.

The Sole Dispositor of your chart is Mercury in Gemini (25° Gem 32')

The Sole Dispositor helps form your core personality, it ultimately rules all the other planets of your chart:

Mercury in Gemini gives a keen, alert and expressive mentality. You have great versatility, and can take up many different skills. You love variety in your life. You are constantly perceiving the world around you, and relaying your perceptions to your mind. You approach mental pursuits in an intellectual rather than a practical way, and tend to prefer breadth in these matters to depth. You speak rapidly and well, and enjoy conversation with many different types of people. You are restless and can be prone to anxiety. Beware of stress to your nerves. It is beneficial for you when you cultivate periods of inner stillness.

Mercury in the Twelfth House represents a strong mental connection between your inner awareness and the deep and nebulous realms of magical inner worlds. You have a refined and visionary mentality. With this placement, you are likely to be poetic in the expression of your thoughts and feelings, and you may possess musical ability as well. You are fascinated by the unknowable mysteries of your own inner world, and you are inclined to search to the depths in order to understand yourself. Mundane reality doesn't interest you. You may avoid dealing with it by being evasive or vague in your communication with others, or by daydreaming, or by falling prey to a form of self-deception. You also may have issues of whose thoughts you are responding to, yours or another's. You may have difficulty in communicating the results of your inner explorations with others. However, once you have sorted through your most awesome and perhaps even fearsome inner experiences, you are better able to connect with those who find a similar numinous connection with the cosmos.

Grand Trine

You have a Grand Trine in your chart. When three or more of your planets form a Grand Trine with each other, you will have an exceptional area of talent represented by the element in the trine, either Fire, Earth, Air or Water (usually these planets are in just one element). You will display a marked self-sufficiency and also will have good success in your endeavors in this area of life. You must also beware, however, of being lazy or complacent.

T-Square, focal planet Chiron

You have a T-Square in your chart. With a this planetary aspect pattern, in which three planets or conjunctions are in square with one another, you have a high degree of motivation and drive. Your energies are most easily and habitually expressed by the energy of the focal point, the middle of the T-Square. You may also compensate for overdoing in the area of life represented by the focal point, by leaning toward the empty pattern element opposite the focal point, seeking to balance your activity. The lesson of this planetary aspect pattern is in learning to use your considerable energy wisely in the pursuit of your true goals. There is great tension represented by the focal planet or planets in your chart, where conflicting parts of your personality attain their focus and peak of energy, and you may observe compulsive behavior in the area of life represented here.

Chiron in the Eleventh House (or sign) represents issues with one's vital force to belong, to function as part of a group consciousness, and to integrate with the human family. With this placement, you may be vulnerable to losing your personal identity to a group cause or belief system. You are both attracted to membership in groups or social organizations and have somewhat painful realizations surrounding these types of activities. It may be that membership in a group or "in-crowd" was denied you in your youth. It may be that parental influences or the influence of a parental-like authority figure tended to force you in a particular direction that you had no real calling for, perhaps the common ideals of consensus reality, and you were left with the painful decision of which to abandon, your parental guidepost, or your own true self. In time you can come to yourself as you begin placing more importance on creating interpersonal friendships which are true to your actual ideals rather than the common ideals of the collective. It takes time to develop the understanding of who we really are at a deep level. It may be the only worthwhile undertaking. At any rate you are one who is particularly called to work out your own future, to become truly selfdetermined, independent of the strictures of society. It is possible that you are truly called to become an exemplar of a particular group ideal that is just breaking into the awareness of the world at large; your path may be to quite uniquely go where no (wo)man has gone before. This can be a lonely road, and you may find that it takes many trials and tribulations along the way before you begin to realize your true potential. It is not surprising that someone with such a mission in life might quail before the prospect, and there are undoubtedly great feelings of ambivalence you will have to deal with, especially in your early years, while you are still evolving. The gold at the end of this particular rainbow is worth the effort.

The following applies to your generation as a whole as well as to you personally:

Chiron in the Gemini (or the Third House) represents issues regarding developing one's intellect and communicating one's ideas with others. With this placement you may feel an almost compulsive curiosity regarding other people. Your desire is strong to communicate and to explore your world intellectually, but you may feel some kind of barrier that separates you from others at the same time. These feelings of being blocked in your ability to communicate and to get your point across can even manifest physically as a form of stuttering, or another ailment that prevents clear communication. These may seem physical, but the physical and the mental are so intimately related it really is hard to say. If there is a psychological reason behind difficulties in communicating with others, it is likely to be found in early youth, when it was quite important to communicate with your peers. Perhaps there was some group that you felt cut off from in the casual cruelty of that era, or perhaps you felt that you were not fully accepted by important siblings. In your efforts to be accepted and to get through to others you may overcompensate by seeming very competitive or desiring to be recognized for the extent of your knowledge. Whatever the childhood trauma that continues to give you difficulties in adult life, it is important to try to understand and relate well to your earlier self. If you can learn to love and accept who you were then, as well as who you are today, you will come a long way toward full participation in your communication with others. In your quest for wholeness it is quite possible that you will be drawn to helping others to communicate, perhaps taking on the role of a speech therapist or other helping person in other people's lives. As you begin to fully accept yourself you will be even more able to help others in their particular road to fulfillment also.

Important Features

Neptune in Virgo (12° Vir 17') Neptune in the Third House

Neptune in the Third House (or sign) gives a clever personality with subtle charm. You are witty and poetic. You are fond of higher education, but you tend to be a dreamer and may miss out on serious study because of it. You see the world through the mystical third eye, rather than the usual binocular setup that allows most people to get along. Because of your extraordinary visionary viewpoint you may see more than others and also miss out on some of the mundane details. You may suffer some confusion regarding communication received, or perhaps where close relatives are concerned, or have feelings of insecurity stemming from your early years, that carries over into adult life. You can be indecisive and worrisome but you are also broad-minded and mentally creative. It benefits you to learn to focus your considerable creative potential, and to let yourself become a channel for higher forms of thought to flow into your own life, and through you into the world around you.

The following applies to your generation as a whole as well as to you personally:

Neptune in Virgo (or the sixth house) gives a mentally creative personality with a tendency to be critical at times. With this placement you can become confused over details. You may have problems with responsibility or feeling that you must be of assistance to others, no matter how you are feeling about it, or you could experience your work as frustrating and ultimately dissatisfying. Or there may be an unconscious tension between your rational mind and your innermost feelings, such as a psychosomatic illness not properly diagnosed. On the other hand, the ideal of service you aspire to, both to other people and to your own highest purpose for yourself, may lead you to a significant mission in your life. You could achieve greatly in the helping professions, possibly with a specialization in alternative medicine, and especially if Neptune is well aspected by other planets in your chart. You benefit by getting away from too great an involvement in the limited and personal, moving toward the broader ideals of service to humanity and personal transformation.

Moon in Virgo (10° Vir 18' 00") Moon in the Third House Ruler of rising sign

The Moon in Virgo gives a hardworking and well-organized personality. You may appear somewhat reserved. You may appear fussy and overly critical of others, due to a streak of perfectionism in your innermost being. You truly are of service to other people, and you are likely to be well-regarded because of it. You may have a sense of insecurity that underlies your drive for intellectual superiority. You should beware of attempting to change other people for the better, and you should be easier on yourself and others to avoid problems with your health in later life.

The Moon in the Third House represents an emotional sensitivity in response to thinking and the intellect. Your mind is ever alert for new information. Your moods are linked with your mental process. You may feel anxiety caused by your habit of constantly questioning the ideas and concepts of the world around you. Each answer you find can be the source of another question for your mind to ponder. Your thinking processes may lack continuity. You are likely to be easily distracted from being able to focus or concentrate. Constant mental activity can lead to a restless nervous system. You dislike routine. Short journeys and personal studies are beneficial to you. You need a variety of stimulation in your mental environment in order to feel comfortable and satisfied.

Jupiter in Scorpio (13° Sco 28'R) Jupiter in the Fifth House

Jupiter in the Fifth House (or sign) gives you a generous personality with good vitality. You have dignity, pride and dramatic presence, and are courageous in your sense of self. You are likely to be a loyal companion. You possess excellent executive abilities. You like to show off your good side, and have a natural flair and sense of showmanship that carries you far in life. You enjoy the limelight, and would always rather shine out on a hillside than hide your light under a barrel. You are attracted to higher learning, and the fine arts, including the theater, and may try your hand at acting. You can also be extravagant at times, or suffer from errors in judgment. You may tend to overdo, and need to beware of egotism. You have good intuition; you make a capable leader when you follow your own inner guidelines.

Jupiter in Scorpio (or the eighth house) gives you a shrewd and careful personality. You can also be somewhat secretive. You have good judgment, and a constant sense of what is important to you. Your focus is excellent, and you make a good worker because of it. You have an innate sense of who you are and where you want to be, and that is usually where you will be found. You are passionate and sensual (especially if there is a challenging aspect between Mars and Jupiter in your chart) and very tuned in to other people. You have the gift of observation. You are fond of the occult, and you can posses the powers of a healer or mystic. You will likely go through many changes in your life in search of a deeper connection to your own higher power. You should beware, though, of being overly self-indulgent.

Sun in Cancer (12° Can 58' 12") Sun in the Twelfth House Angular planet - conjunct Ascendant

The Sun represents your will and purpose, your sense of vitality, and your evolving higher Self. In Cancer it is Cardinal-Water and rules the stomach and breasts. Cancerians are nurturing and protective of others. Your ruling planet is the Moon, and you tend to be moody, with constantly changing emotions. You are also likely to be security-conscious and highly value your home life. You may appear passive, and tend to rely on your feelings to make decisions. You are subtle, rather than direct, and are likely to reflect the moods of those around you. You may be involved with the past in some way, because the sign of Cancer, the sign of nurturing, protecting and sustaining, is strongly tied to the past, and the principle of Karma. You tend to collect the residue of past experience and hold onto it, allowing it to color present activities and lead you to instinctual action. Rather than allowing yourself to be driven by your changing moods, you benefit from shedding the light of conscious reason on your habitual patterns and focusing on your true goals

The Sun in Twelfth House represents a concentration of the vital force to be one with the unifying forces of cosmic awareness. You are intuitively aware that you are within the source of creation. You likely identify yourself with formlessness, being more attracted to awareness itself than to any particular concrete form within it. You sense that you are more than merely a body with feelings, emotions, and thoughts. You may in fact reject your own boundaries because you cannot identify with any self as being separate from the universal cosmic self, or God(dess). Conversely, you may be frustrated and feel alienated from the source, and may have a tendency to seek out substitute highs in an effort to achieve the sense of oneness you know to be true. Due to your lack of personal boundaries you are quite sensitive to the collective unconscious as an interior realm of perception. You perceive reality as forms of creation and therefore are naturally inclined to the artistic, poetic, or musical. Your sensitivity can create a need for you to periodically withdraw in order to cleanse yourself of psychic debris you've pick up in the outside world. You benefit from such retreats in order to come back to yourself, and create positive boundaries of selfhood that allow you to re-enter the collective awareness with clarity and fresh perceptions that can stimulate others to clarify their own purpose for themselves as well.

Angular Planets

Pluto in Cancer (25° Can 16') Pluto in the First House Angular planet - conjunct Ascendant

Pluto in the First House (or sign) gives you a tremendous drive to transform yourself as you go through life. You have a powerful personality, and a charismatic way about you that others respect. You may actually appear to be timid or unsure of yourself on the surface, but you have the potential to suddenly burst out in anger due to repressed emotions finally exploding. You are also apt to sweep all aspects of your former life before you in a sudden change that it seems simply must come. You may feel insecure or afraid or perhaps jealous of others at times, and may compensate by being extremely forceful. You can also be compulsive, even obsessive, in achieving your will. You have the power to really get things done, and this power can be used either to bolster your own ego or else for the good of all concerned. Your challenge is movement away from feelings of insecurity and resulting separateness and loneliness, toward an acceptance of your own and other's needs and opinions in order to generate a new and better sense of self. In your most positive manifestation, you possess a dedication to higher ideals and a willingness to be a channel for healing yourself and society.

The following applies to your generation as a whole as well as to you personally:

Pluto in Cancer (or the fourth house) gives you an intense desire for emotional security. Your security needs may manifest as a fixation for a place to reside which can be completely safe, or controlled. You have a strong survival urge, and are likely to go through many changes in your relationship to your home environment as you go through life. You may have suffered early on from an unsettled family existence. You perhaps experienced your father or the same sex parent as obsessive or controlling in some way. You may have increasingly clear insight into your own unconscious motivations, as well as into the emotional depths of others, as you mature. On the other hand, you may find that confronting issues of deep trauma that arise in the course of events is too much for you to handle, and you may attempt to repress these insights. As a defense, you may be obsessively attached to making a home environment for yourself that is exactly the way you want it. There could be a tendency for dictatorial behavior on the home front, or other compulsive behavior in search of safety and security such as seeking isolation rather than sharing. These struggles can be avoided through a deeper understanding of what is truly needed on an emotional level. Your challenge is to transform your need for security based on a better understanding of your own hidden motivations.

You are the softhearted type, and may be even too willing to sacrifice yourself for the good of others. Extremely aware of your surroundings, you may take on different qualities with different groups of people, or there could be difficulties with your motivation. Once these difficulties are overcome, tremendous creativity is possible, perhaps through artistic channels: music, drama, or poetry. You may also find your life's calling in the helping professions, for your compassion is strong. Your aim is to achieve a balance between the spiritual dimension of reality and ordinary life.

Sun in strong square (within 3.0 degrees) with Midheaven

You can be autocratic and may appear selfish, or bent on getting your own way. You have tremendous drive, and will likely go far, but you might need to beware of too much ego-involvement in being on top.

There is usually artistic ability indicated, perhaps in music and dance, as well as a love of refined surroundings. You may appear flighty in your attitudes and your emotions. You are graceful and charming, and are likely to be well liked.

Sun in square (within 5.3 degrees) with Mars

The planetary energies conflict; internal and creative tensions bring rich rewards through effort over time. This aspect gives a rash personality with a quick temper. You are daring and have great physical vitality and stamina, but you may lack patience and tend to be argumentative. You are likely to be restless with a forceful drive that can lead you to accomplish great things, if properly harnessed. You are also likely to be excitable, and tend to run risks. You can be opinionated. You could also be hard to talk with at times, since you have a tendency to take your own position at the expense of the other's. You mean well, but it may not turn out that way in the event. You need to temper your strong physical drive with calmness and judgment.

Sun in semi-sextile (exact) with Chiron

The planetary energies attract each other, require effort, allow entry of new information. With this aspect between Sun and Chiron there are indications that you may experience painful realizations throughout your own life and that you also have the ability to heal others as well. Chiron is called "the wounded healer" because it represents the archetype of imperfection and loss which when integrated leads to compassion and understanding of others' suffering. The empathy and the understanding that are gained through life's trials provide the ability to serve as a helper and a healer for others. Since you have come through the fires of difficulty you are likely to be someone with career possibilities in the helping professions. It is often easier to face others' troubles than one's own, and you may even be more ready and available to help others than to help yourself. It is good to integrate your past experiences, no matter how painful they may have been, and no matter how painful these feelings continue to be for you in adult life. Then you will be in a position to truly sympathize with others' suffering and help them to work out their traumas as well.

Moon in strong sextile (within 3.2 degrees) with Jupiter

The planetary energies flow together, open into new possibilities, new connections. This aspect gives an idealistic and humanitarian personality, friendly and sociable, with an inherent spirituality. You are loving and caring and are also strong in character, with a keen sense of right and wrong. You are fortunate in finances, and attract material rewards without seeming to try for them. You are honorable and dependable in your dealings with your fellow man, and work well with the public. There may be an inclination toward the mystical side of life.

Moon in strong opposition (within 0.3 degrees) with Saturn Leading planet of planetary pattern

The planetary energies are polarized; outer events stimulate their interaction; integration is the challenge. You may appear to be rigid, rather letting your emotions flow freely. This aspect gives a deepening and concentrating, or a blockage in the expression of your feelings. You may be extremely sensitive. You may have had problems with the parental care and guidance you received as a child, or you may be fixated on one parent, especially your mother. There may be a sense of over-identification with mother, or possibly an unconscious rejection of her influence. You may have experienced her as rejecting or uncaring -- and this attitude may spill over to the significant women in your life. You may experience difficulties in your relationship to the feminine. In a woman's chart there could be a need to more fully identify with and bring into focus a concept of your own femininity. In a man's chart you may be in relationship to powerful feminine figures, symbolic of the powerful feelings that are denied full expression in your own nature. The lesson for you here is to more fully and deeply understand and value the true roots of your being, leading to a better sense of security and greater self-acceptance.

Moon in strong conjunction (within 2.0 degrees) with Neptune

The strongest blend of the energies represented by these two planets. This conjunction gives an emotionally sensitive, idealistic and loving personality. You possess an ethereal quality, and are likely to be imaginative or even to withdraw from the world into internal fantasies of your own. You may have powerful psychic abilities. You are the softhearted type, and you are perhaps even too willing to sacrifice yourself for the good of others. You were probably strongly influenced by your home life, and may tend to idealize these formative experiences. You could have issues with self-deception or experience discontent with the practical realities of life for the urge within you to seek the highest ideal is very strong. Your home is important to you, and you may change residences frequently in search of your ideal environment, or dream of the ideal romantic attachment without ever finding the perfect mate. You benefit from striving for greater self-control in holding back your emotions, as well as clarity in applying your high ideals to the real world of logic and fact.

Moon in strong square (within 2.7 degrees) with Chiron

The planetary energies conflict; internal and creative tensions bring rich rewards through effort over time. With this aspect there are difficulties indicated in relating to the feminine - either significant female presences in your life or else and including your own feminine side. This would be true, and different in its sense, in either a man's or a woman's chart. Of course the important early model for the feminine is mother, and it is likely that there were painful experiences of some kind in your early relationship with your own mother or significant female parental figure. Perhaps you had a close relationship, but yet your needs were somehow not met, resulting in unconscious resentments which only surfaced later in your adult life. You may in this case exhibit a strong feminine side through and over-attachment to your mother's feelings. It is important to note that there also may have been actual abuse, physical or otherwise. These experiences are so painful that they are often suppressed from your consciousness, and buried deep in your psyche. In your adult life, it is important to move past the resentment caused by early wounding into a more conscious and compassionate reconciliation with the walled off parts of your own nature. Therefore, deep psychological work of some variety is strongly indicated. Once you have begun to make conscious the pain and alienation surrounding events from the long-buried past, you can begin to truly help others as well as yourself. A creative side of your nature may emerge for the first time. The integration of the feminine side of your nature is a tremendous challenge for you, but the gold at the end of the process is well worth digging for.

The planetary energies flow smoothly; the connection is easy and beneficial. This aspect gives an unique individual with an energetic personality, and with a strong sense of intuition. Novelty excites you. You like to explore new horizons. You enjoy meeting people and have an enthusiasm which is appealing. Your early home life was probably very stimulating and challenging. You may be interested in studying occult realms of thought. You are able to benefit from fundamental transformations of identity in your life, and are quick to take advantage of new opportunities. You are very original and individualistic and may have difficulties in settling down with a steady partner. You can benefit from learning to balance your needs for security with your urge for freedom and experimentation.

The planetary energies conflict in determined subtle tension; calmness is required. This aspect gives a moody and introspective personality with a strong desire for emotional security. You are likely to have a tendency to become absorbed in interpersonal relationships. You are a forceful individual, with the urge to transform yourself and your surroundings. You have an unusually clear insight into the emotional depths of other people. You are likely to also have the urge to break through the limitations of what you may have experienced as controlling behavior on the part of one or both parents, especially your mother. You are subtle in your actions, rather than direct, and are likely to reflect the moods of those around you. Security and your home is important to you. You have a habit of moodiness, with your emotions frequently changing, and this can create problems in relating to others. You may feel at a loss to connect with others, not being sure of how they really feel towards you, and yet secretly desiring emotional contact with them. You also tend to act instinctively, rather than after reasoning out the situation. You can therefore benefit from shedding the light of conscious reason on your habitual patterns, and working toward greater focus on your true goals.

Moon in inconjunct (within 0.3 degrees) with Midheaven

The planetary energies do not flow smoothly, one or the other predominates; discrimination must be employed. This aspect gives an emotionally sensitive personality who is nurturing and caring. You may be over-dependent on others for your own feelings of self-worth, so that it is important to you that others look up to you. You do well in a business setting, having a dramatic presence that gives you natural abilities to influence others, and an attitude of caring that makes you easy to get along with, but you may have difficulties due to being changeable or engaging in political game-playing. You set priorities based on people rather than strictly on profits.

Cancer Rising

The Rising Sign is the mask shown to others, also the physical appearance.

People with Cancer rising are nurturing and protective of other people. Your ruling planet is the Moon, and you tend to be moody, with your emotions constantly changing. You are security-conscious and your home is important to you. The position of the Moon in your chart is very important, and shows the way your personality is likely to develop. If the Moon is well-placed by sign and aspect, life flows easily for you, while stressful aspects or sign placement may reflect difficulties (check the position of the Moon). Cancer people are apt to appear passive, and to rely on their feelings. You are subtle, rather than direct, and are likely to reflect the moods of those around you. You are also good at working with the public. You are likely to be involved with the past in some way, because the sign of Cancer is the sign of nurturing, protecting, sustaining, and is strongly tied to the past, and Karma. You are probably the type who can be happy for hours in an antique store. Cancer people tend to collect the residue of past experience and hold onto it, as a coloration of their present activities, leading to instinctual action. You can benefit from shedding the light of conscious reason on your habitual patterns, and focusing on your true goals.

Pluto in strong conjunction (within 1.2 degrees) with Ascendant

The strongest blend of the energies represented by these two planets. This conjunction gives a willful personality with a focus on being recognized and admired. You like to get your way. You have strong desires, and are single-minded about pursuing them. You have a powerful urge toward self-transformation, and may go through many changes in your life. In relationships, you tend to become intensely involved quickly, and stay absorbed in the relationship as long as it lasts. You are not shy about expressing your beliefs, and may feel a compulsion toward self-assertion and self-aggrandizement. You tend to overpower any situation, perhaps owing to underlying feelings of insecurity leading to rather self-centered and ego-oriented behavior. This behavior can change, however, for you have tremendous powers of regeneration and rebirth. You tend to champion the underdog, and react strongly to social injustice. When you learn to train your considerable energy on socially oriented rather than purely personal goals, you can become a focal point for the transformation of society.

Mercury in semi-sextile (within 1.4 degrees) with Ascendant Sole dispositor of chart planets

The planetary energies attract each other, require effort, allow entry of new information. This conjunction gives a personality who values mental pursuits and communication highly. You have a need to connect with other people. Your attention is so much on communicating with others you may constantly worry about how you are coming across, and this may interfere with good communication with other people. You are quick-witted and glib, and may also be nervous and high-strung. You should beware of a tendency to dominate any conversation you enter into. Your pride in your mental abilities and education may overshadow your ability to hear other people. You may turn to writing or public speaking as a way to share your enthusiasm for your own ideas. You are in essence an independent thinker with your own way of looking at things, and you may be inspired and even visionary in your outlook.

Saturn in sesquiquadrate (within 1.0 degrees) with Ascendant Leading planet of planetary pattern

The planetary energies conflict in determined subtle tension; control is required. This aspect gives a deepening and concentration of the self-expression. You can be strongwilled and determined, or cautious and reserved. You may have a sense of lack of love in your life, or a subconscious desire for recognition. The lesson in all this may be to deepen and particularize the knowledge of who you really are, make contact with your own inner significance, and learn to love yourself.

Sun in weak conjunction (within 11.1 degrees) with Ascendant

The strongest blend of the energies represented by these two planets. The conjunction between the Sun and Ascendant gives a strong-willed and generous personality. You are dramatic and assertive, also creative, self-confident and perhaps a bit self-indulgent. Like Leo rising people you expect to be the center of attention, and often are. You also have great energy, courage and honesty and are very proud. You are likely to be a natural leader. Your challenge is to become more aware of yourself; to refrain from arrogance and egotism, and rather to develop humility and compassion, and to learn detachment in the gift of your affections.

Mars in weak square (within 5.8 degrees) with Ascendant

The planetary energies conflict; internal and creative tensions bring rich rewards through effort over time. This aspect gives a rash personality with a quick temper. You lack patience and tend to be argumentative. You are restless and have a forceful drive, which can lead you to accomplish great things, if properly harnessed. You are likely to possess a wiry and spare physique. You are also excitable, tend to run risks, and can be opinionated. You are daring and have great physical vitality and stamina. You can definitely "hold your own" in a dispute. You are sometimes hard to talk with, seeming to take your own position at the expense of others, and you should beware of abrasive behavior towards them, such as bragging or pushing yourself too much. You usually mean well, and need to temper your physical drive with calmness and judgment.

Other Natal Planets

Venus in Leo (28° Leo 17') Venus in the Second House

Venus in Leo gives a proud and willful love nature that is also loyal and affectionate. With this placement you are dramatic and dignified, and at the same time very caring and compassionate. You are a seeker for pleasure and are given to the grand gesture in the expression of your affection. Your values are definitely your own, and you make a work of art out of your presentation of yourself to the world at large. You are likely to be quite attractive. You are warm-hearted and spontaneous but knowing so well what you want, you also can be very controlled in the expression of your relationship energy. You love society in the sense of the impact that you make upon it, and benefit from pulling back and considering other points of view as equally valid to your own.

Venus in the Second House represents a deeply felt connection within you between artistic conception and material form. You have a talent for artistic expression that manifests in a practical way, for example with an interest in interior design or gardening, or perhaps in its full-on manifestation in the field of the visual or plastic arts. You may also display a fondness for the material things of life, or for their medium of exchange, money and finance. Material things ultimately mean more to you than what they are worth, and are valued for their intrinsic beauty. You likely have a well-developed sense of what you value and an unerring moral compass. It may be right for someone else, but if it's not right for you, you won't have any part of it. You possess an earthy and practical love nature, very ardent and nurturing. This is a powerful placement for Venus, and your emotions are strong and long lasting. You will always have an abiding sense of enjoyment from music and the arts.

Mars in Libra (18° Lib 18') Mars in the Fourth House

Mars in the Fourth House (or sign) gives a sensitive, sensuous and emotional nature, gentle and peaceful, with a tendency to internalize conflict. People with this placement of Mars may have trouble with their digestion. You also may need to work through being overly concerned with your private life to the detriment of public enterprise. Your energy is centered on your home environment, and you may spend time and money remodeling or fixing things up just the way you want them around the house. You may appear timid or shy, but are actually quite determined and readily take action although when you do you tend to act from an instinctual level rather than from the basis of your conscious will. You may try too hard to achieve security, or other unconscious goals, and suffer anxiety as a result. You benefit from relaxing more, and diverting some of your energies outward, toward the world around you.

Mars in Libra (or the seventh house) gives a sensitive, and emotionally impressionable nature with an inclination to get very involved with other people. You are likely to have great charm and poise, and an ongoing attraction to love and romance. You can be a persuasive talker, and enjoy getting your own way, although you also are truly committed to making sure all parties in a dispute receive just and fair treatment, and will go out of your way to make sure that they get it. You are potentially a rash and ardent lover, and you may marry early. You are likely to seek an active partner, one who will match your own fiery independence that is a part of your basic nature you may not always show. You might need to work through quarreling with others as a way of standing up to being overly influenced by them, and benefit from exploring a greater degree of self-reliance. You also may be attracted to the idea of partnerships generally, as a way of life. You profit from cultivating moderation and objectivity in your dealings with others.

Uranus in Taurus (4° Tau 58') Uranus in the Tenth House

Uranus in the Tenth House (or sign) gives an ambitious and willful individual who is rebellious of authority and also somewhat hung up about it. With this placement you are a definite non-conformist. You have a forward thinking mentality, and will not be satisfied with existing stagnant political solutions. You have a strong imagination and are so sure of yourself that you often cannot be argued out of your opinion, which can be a trifle eccentric at times. You have the impulse toward prestige and authority, but may find yourself bored with conventional approaches to attain worldly success. You may go through many different jobs and careers. You may also come into conflict with others over what are perhaps merely ego-gratification issues. You do better when your motivation is to benefit society rather than for personal gain. Your challenge is to move from a knee-jerk reaction against established authority, toward establishing your own personal authority, in your own way, to make your vision available to the social matrix surrounding you.

The following applies to your generation as a whole as well as to you personally:

Uranus in Taurus (or the second house) gives an individual who is likely to be concerned with changing his or her physical environment. You have a unique value system, and you may "march to the tune of a different drummer" or choose to experiment with different lifestyles. You have a tremendous drive for independence, and you don't like to work for other people, so that you may be motivated to start your own business. You also may be involved with New Age business ventures, or those involving modern communications, such as Internet resources. You have a unique way of looking at the world, and of finding your own way to its abundance. You may have possessions that you value at one point in your life, but this can change rather suddenly, and you may have to start over. Your income can also fluctuate. You can appear selfish at times to other people, or you may be something of a crusader. You benefit from getting in touch with what you truly value, as opposed to what conventionality dictates. Then your efforts will allow new resources to evolve in your life and your consciousness, and lead to the greater good of society.

N Node in Capricorn (22° Cap 01') N Node in the Seventh House

Lunar North Node in the Seventh House (or sign). South Node in the first house or sign. This placement gives a personality with a focus on forming close partnership attachments. You may have difficulties in marriage and partnerships; but there are also great rewards to be gained in this area. This is ultimately a spiritual placement of the North Node. In the past, or in past lives, you have been concerned with yourself alone, but now you must make the transition to being mostly concerned with others. This concern for the other person does not come naturally to you, for it is easier to rely on yourself, as you have always done. Now, in this lifetime, though, you need to focus your energies outward. The welfare of the other person, your intimate partner or your partner in other types of relationship, is a necessary key to your own spiritual evolution. By fulfilling this mission of connection with others, you enrich your own experience, so that you come back to yourself more whole, more well rounded. Your lessons in this life revolve around this ideal of true giving of yourself to another.

Lunar North Node in Capricorn (or the tenth house). South Node in the fourth house or sign. This placement gives a personality with a focus on recognized achievement. Although you are comfortable in your private home life, which is what comes naturally to you, you are determined, as you mature, to move beyond the personal and secure enclosure of your home and family and out into the sphere of public achievement. Something is calling to you to come forth and shine your light so that the outer world can see it. You search for public recognition is not however a goal in and of itself, but connects you into a larger picture of social commitment and service to the collective ideal, that reinforces your sense of self as a part of the whole, an important cog in the turning wheel of world events. Thus you come full circle to a self-concept that includes its own sense of security in beneficial interaction with the social matrix that surrounds you.

Other Aspects

Jupiter in strong sextile (within 1.2 degrees) with Neptune

The planetary energies flow together, open into new possibilities, new connections. This aspect gives an imaginative and unassuming personality. You are good and kind, considerate of others, and are friendly and easy-going. You need to feel an emotional sympathy in order for your work to be satisfying to you. You tend to work behind the scenes, and do not seek personal glorification from your actions, but are content to do what you do because it is helpful to others. You are capable of great belief in the unknown and unproven, and are inclined to the mystical, seeing life in terms of visionary and poetic feelings, rather than in practical terms. You may be even too much inclined to trust your imagination, which can cloud your powers of judgment. You benefit from attaining a more practical and reality-based view of life.

Neptune in strong square (within 0.7 degrees) with Chiron

The planetary energies conflict; internal and creative tensions bring rich rewards through effort over time. With this combination of planetary energies in your chart, you may have gone to the depths and back again in your life. You have a particularly strong access to the world of dreams and inner fantasy, which may serve as an escape valve for you. You may also be extremely sensitive to the psyches of others, may vicariously experience their pain. Something keeps you out of touch with consensus reality, but you also are not comfortable with this role. It is as if you stand on the other side of a glass door from the rest of society, through which you alternately gaze longingly and then lose interest and wander away into your own fantasy. You are capable of tremendous spiritual powers once you have begun to work through these difficulties and establish a better sense of where you stand vis a vis the remainder of society. You may exhibit great poetic or musical talent or the empathy of a born healer. Having come through a painful examination of your own psyche you are able to see more clearly and compassionately into the minds of others also.

Mercury in sextile (within 2.8 degrees) with Venus

The planetary energies flow together, open into new possibilities, new connections. This aspect gives a charming manner and an idealistic philosophy. You are friendly and sociable, and lean toward the beautiful and artistic side of life. You have artistic abilities and a youthful attitude, and tend to like young people. You like to dress attractively, although not necessarily expensively, and are likely to be cheerful and optimistic. You also usually have a pleasant speaking or singing voice, and express yourself well in speech or writing. You can be very persuasive in a quiet way.

Mercury in semi-sextile (within 0.3 degrees) with Pluto

The planetary energies attract each other, require effort, allow entry of new information. This aspect gives a sharp and penetrating mind, together with unusually clear and direct communication skills. You are likely to be quite interested in the occult, or other hidden and potentially taboo areas of thought. You can also be compulsively attached to your communication or the results of your mental process, so that there is a danger that you may feel yourself to be correct in what you say in spite of what others may think. You can be a great source of inspiration when you use your powers of insight and expression responsibly, enabling you to share your gift with humanity.

Jupiter in trine (within 3.4 degrees) with Saturn

The planetary energies flow smoothly; the connection is easy and beneficial. This aspect gives a serious and conscientious personality. You are strong morally, and likely to be socially active. You are quietly ambitious, with a good sense about you that impresses other people. You make an excellent manager, and have a strong drive to achieve success, with a talent for working with the public. You desire to be a force for good in society. If you live up to this ideal, you will be a natural leader, being optimistic, yet practical, and possessing excellent judgment. For the early part of your life you may tend to hide your light under a basket; your powers are likely to grow as you mature.

Jupiter in inconjunct (within 0.5 degrees) with Chiron

The planetary energies do not flow smoothly, one or the other predominates; discrimination must be employed. With this placement you have a strong connection with spirituality and a great tendency to go your own way rather than subserve yourself to the spiritual ideals of human consciousness. You also may have been wounded in your spirituality in some way; perhaps in your early life you were forced into relationship with some sort of spiritual community to which you did not feel a connection. These two planetary energies, Jupiter and Chiron, both have a strong spiritual component, but operate in different ways. With Jupiter's optimism in support of Chiron's tendency for pain and suffering as a way toward the light, you are always able to rise above distressing circumstances, buoyed up by a strong streak of faith in the ultimate beneficence of Spirit. In fact, positive outlooks can become something of an obsession with you, so that friends and associates get tired of your unflagging optimism even though you are such a helpful companion. You have an abiding interest in matters of the religion and philosophy, although this is likely to represent your own style of spiritual involvement rather than any standard form of spiritual institutions.

Jupiter in inconjunct (within 3.5 degrees) with Midheaven

The planetary energies do not flow smoothly, one or the other predominates; discrimination must be employed. This aspect gives a positive and optimistic personality. You are lucky and are likely to be successful at whatever you strive for. You have an expansive attitude toward new projects, so that there can be too much growth potential for you to handle. You need to get a reality check from time to time. You have good spirits and are able to see the big picture, so that others find you an inspiration to be around, but you may have to beware of too much complacency and self-satisfaction. You benefit from cultivating humility in your dealings with other people.

Saturn in opposition (within 2.2 degrees) with Neptune

The planetary energies are polarized; outer events stimulate their interaction; integration is the challenge. This combination gives a clear thinking and discriminating personality. Saturn brings an extremely practical dimension to the visionary idealism of Neptune. You are responsible, compassionate and take social issues very seriously. You may have a musical career or achieve much in the helping professions. There may be confusion in your life regarding restrictions imposed upon you, in which you feel both attracted to the security imposed by such limits, and simultaneously repelled or stifled by these restrictions. You may suffer through many trials before learning to work with both the energies of stability and of idealism in an effort to balance between either extreme of behavior.

Saturn in sesquiquadrate (within 0.2 degrees) with Pluto

The planetary energies conflict in determined subtle tension; control is required. This aspect gives a forceful personality with a focus on issues of authority, power and control. You may have a compulsion for control leading to problems with interpersonal relations or rebellious attitudes toward established authority. What is needed is a re-evaluation and transformation of the urge for power and control, based on a deeper understanding of and more conscious and socially responsible use of personal power.

Saturn in square (within 2.9 degrees) with Chiron

The planetary energies conflict; internal and creative tensions bring rich rewards through effort over time. With this aspect, you can be rigid or stuck in situations; unbending. You have an attachment and also great difficulty with authority; for example you may endlessly achieve positions of authority and then have second thoughts about it. You likely suffered through potentially painful experiences as a child, when you were forced to submit to an arbitrary authority or limitation of some kind. Perhaps you had the experience of a bad father. The relationship with your father was damaged in some way; perhaps it was a relationship you had to get away from, either from his overbearing nature or from his neediness and lack of presence. In other words, your father figure was either too strict, or not present and therefore not strict enough. With this aspect, you need to make your own form of personal authority, independent from the parental influences or that of society. This gives you the potential for great strength and leadership, if you can integrate your powerful and perhaps repressed emotions regarding your concept of authority. In this way you can lead others into the New Age. You may be one to re-work the structure of society itself in some way, or to become an advisor or even a leader in the social sphere; perhaps in connection with organizations devoted to new age healing techniques. You may also feel the need to redeem yourself or your family; to restructure the constructs that you have internalized from your heritage, perhaps even your entire relationship with the physical realm.

Saturn in semi-sextile (exact) with Midheaven

The planetary energies attract each other, require effort, allow entry of new information. You are persistent and thorough, and may be careful or calculating in your dealings with others. This aspect gives an ambitious and clear-minded individual, with a strong sense of responsibility. You may suffer from feelings of inferiority. You are likely to have had problems in the early life with finding your own identity, independent of parental figures, so that in your adult life you may operate out of a subconscious fear that if you don't conquer the world first, then it will conquer you instead. You also may have difficulties, limitations or delays in the achievement of your goals, but you are likely to achieve success in the end through your tremendous drive to achieve.

Neptune in semi-square (within 2.0 degrees) with Pluto

The planetary energies conflict in determined subtle tension; calmness is required. This combination gives an individual with a personal involvement in the energies of the collective. This is a generational aspect, which many of your contemporaries will share with you. You have a subtle intuition and unusually clear insight into others. The influence of the unconscious is especially strong in you. You need to connect with your higher self in order to be happy. You function at your best in service to the world, helping to move it closer to a vision of spiritual union between all mankind.

Neptune in inconjunct (within 2.3 degrees) with Midheaven

The planetary energies do not flow smoothly, one or the other predominates; discrimination must be employed. This combination gives a charming personality with an idealistic and deceptive nature. You may have a musical career or achieve much in the helping professions, although you will have to work at it. You are susceptible to suggestion, and you tend to give more than you receive in your employment. You may have a tendency to avoid responsibility. There may have been difficulties or confusion in your early years, especially with regard to the parental care you received at the time, and this issue can spill over into your adult life, when you may confuse others around you by your own lack of clarity. In vocation, you must learn to spell out your goals. You will not be content with most ordinary jobs, until you seek out some part of it that represents a real calling for you. At your best you express the societal ideals of brother- and sisterhood and find a spiritual joy in your work.

Chiron in sextile (within 3.0 degrees) with Midheaven

The planetary energies flow together, open into new possibilities, new connections. With this aspect of Chiron and your Midheaven, you likely have issues around exerting personal will versus knuckling under to authority. You have enormous energy and endurance at your disposal, although you may appear timid or unsure of yourself, since your power urge is likely to be repressed. It may be that you have had many painful experiences with authority. As a result of these experiences, you may fear the expression of your own personal power, and alternate between complying with the standards of society around you, or rebelling against them. You may avoid situations where a direct confrontation seems to be brewing. You also may feel more empowered in helping others than in getting your own act together, and this aspect can be the sign of someone with a career in the helping professions, perhaps involved with new age healing. It is often the case that the powerful emotions associated with this aspect hover below the level of conscious awareness in your psyche. As you become more aware of these patterns, you will less and less need to act them out either suppressed with passivity, or with bluster. Another manifestation of this aspect, perhaps paradoxically, is the ability to lead and be willful, to not take "no for an answer", to be ruthless in accomplishing one's aims. A better level of integration produces a newly self-assured personality whereby you do not depend on others either to fully express your own desires, nor to be swayed by theirs. When you have integrated the walled-off places in your psyche that inhibit action on the part of your whole entire self, you are available to yourself in situations of leadership, as well as in truly helping other people.

Sun in weak sextile (within 8.0 degrees) with Uranus

The planetary energies flow together, open into new possibilities, new connections. This aspect gives an independent and strong-willed individual. You can be determined to get your own way, and love freedom from conventionality. You like to start new projects, or make major changes in your life, but without completely eliminating previous foundations. You may feel conflicts with the norm. Because you are unpredictable at times, it can be hard for others to be comfortable with you. You are an original and independent thinker with an active, scientific mind, futuristic in outlook, and are capable of bringing new ideas into being. You may have issues with commitment and responsibility. Your task is to fully express your visionary impulses in order to make these more concretely available in your own life, and in the life of society around you.

Moon in weak conjunction (within 12.0 degrees) with Venus

The strongest blend of the energies represented by these two planets. This conjunction gives a loving, calm and steady personality. You have a cheerful and optimistic outlook, a refined emotional nature, and a consciousness of harmony. You tend to be a dreamer rather than a doer, but that shouldn't stand in your way, for you usually win people over easily. You love luxury and refinement, and it is important to you that you have nice things. You are likely to have extremely good taste in clothing and also in fitting out your home environment. You are artistic, sociable and attractive, and your loving disposition makes you popular with all who know you.

Mercury in weak trine (within 7.2 degrees) with Mars

The planetary energies flow smoothly; the connection is easy and beneficial. This aspect gives great mental energy with an aggressive attitude and a disputatious mind. You are never at a loss for an answer, and are able to succeed well in debate, being able to find the weakness in your opponent's argument. You are courageous and somewhat rash in speech, and have a strong will. You possess great talent for literary activities. Your excellent reasoning ability and action orientation work well together giving you tremendous analytic talent but not always the enthusiasm and drive to accomplish all that you may. You are always on the go, with a restless nature that is not easily satisfied.

Venus in weak trine (within 6.7 degrees) with Uranus

The planetary energies flow smoothly; the connection is easy and beneficial. This aspect gives an individual who is independent and original in the expression of social activities and in relationships. You are enthusiastic socially and are attracted to the stimulation and the excitement of new contacts. You have great creativity that may express itself through artistic endeavors. You also have a tolerant and accepting attitude toward other people that probably makes you well liked. You may be unconventional in your attitudes and you tend to occupy yourself with multiple interests and explorations. You can benefit from attempting to bring a steady and consistent focus to your many interests and activities, and from recognizing your need for freedom and making space for that need in relationship with others.

Mars in weak square (within 7.0 degrees) with Pluto

The planetary energies conflict; internal and creative tensions bring rich rewards through effort over time. This aspect gives a personality with a tremendous drive for power and transformation of self. You are strong-willed almost to the point of ruthlessness, and you have enormous energy and endurance at your disposal. You may appear timid or unsure of yourself, since the power urge is commonly repressed, but then there is the potential for sudden bursts of anger due to the repressed emotion finally exploding to the surface. You may also have feelings of insecurity that are compensated for by being overly forceful, acting compulsively or even becoming obsessive about achieving your will. In a more positive manifestation, you can exhibit a dedication to higher ideals and a willingness to be a channel for healing yourself and society. The challenge is movement away from feelings of insecurity and resulting separateness and loneliness, toward a better acceptance of other's needs and opinions in order to generate wholeness, forgiveness towards self and others, and a new and better sense of self-worth.

Mars in weak trine (within 5.3 degrees) with Chiron

The planetary energies flow smoothly; the connection is easy and beneficial. With this aspect you have issues around expressing anger, as well as exerting personal will versus knuckling under to authority. It may be that you have had painful experiences with violence, or potential violence, on the part of someone close to you, perhaps in your early childhood. As a result of these experiences, you may fear the power of your own anger, and seek to placate your opponent in situations where a direct confrontation seems to be brewing. You may exhibit something of a "passive-aggressive" attitude, in which there is hidden aggression under-expressed, rather than any form of direct attack. It is often the case that the powerful emotions associated with this aspect hover below the level of conscious awareness in your psyche. As you become more aware of these patterns, you will less and less need to act them out either suppressed with passivity, or with bluster. Another manifestation of this aspect, perhaps paradoxically, is the ability to lead and be willful, to not take "no for an answer". The willful energy of Mars is given a creative boost by Chiron, both in terms of suffering and in a better-integrated personality, in terms of conquest. A still better level of integration produces the self-assured and powerful personality who does not depend on others either to express his or her own desires, nor to be crushed by them.

Saturn in weak sextile (within 5.1 degrees) with Uranus

The planetary energies flow together, open into new possibilities, new connections. This aspect gives a practical yet future-oriented personality. You are definitely not a conformer. You have a strong imagination and good conceptual level. When you function at your best you have the capability to bring a concrete and real-world practicality to the intangible and visionary Uranian energy. Your dynamic is to move from knee-jerk reactions either for or against established authority toward establishing your own personal authority, in your own way, in order to make your brilliant visionary impulses available to society at large.

Uranus in weak trine (within 7.3 degrees) with Neptune

The planetary energies flow smoothly; the connection is easy and beneficial. This aspect gives a future oriented and idealistic individual, very aware of collective energies. This is a generational aspect, which many of your contemporaries will share with you. You may feel a pull to the service of humanity at large. You are likely to be interested in mysticism and the occult. You may also be inclined to nervousness (especially if Uranus makes close aspects to the 'personal' planets in your chart). You may feel some sense of confinement or restriction in the freedom to be who you want to be. Social ideals will strongly affect the expression of your individuality.
